Berry Bearing Catchfly was first described by Albrecht Wilhelm Roth in 'Tentamen Florae Germanica' in 1789. Berry bearing catch-fly has been known by names such as false belladonna, Devil's tomato or Devil's grapes. Berry Bearing Catchfly is the only catchfly to produce berries. Berry Bearing Catchfly boasts dainty flowers that resemble tiny green petticoats and are extremely unique for the genus. Berry Bearing Catchfly is native to Southern Europe and Asia, and has been reported to have been used to treat hemorrhages. Berry Bearing Catchfly contains saponins and is not recommended for edible applications.
